Sue-PRIZE we're in the top of the Post's community thingy.

So the Washington Post has put together some code that sort communities down by the Zip code

So when I put in the Golden Zip Code (20016) here is what the Post kicked out.  I will say it's a bit strange that (20015) has a 20k house hold difference.   Oh well we both have Janney Deal and Wilson and each other.

Hello my fellow AUparkers, this is our park and the changes at hand aren't remotely inline with the needs of our community.

We're on plane with Tianjin China?

20016 Zip code is located in the Eastern time zone at 39 degrees latitude (Fun Fact: this is the same latitude as Tianjin, China!) and -77 degrees longitude. It has an average elevation of 339 feet above sea level. http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/zip/20016

We are the most armed Zipcode in DC

"In the 20016 Zip code, encompassing some of the District's wealthiest enclaves in upper Northwest, 151 firearms have been registered. That is more than 10 percent of the citywide gun total in an area with about 14,000 households, according to U.S. Census data." WashPost

The same article goes on to say that in all of Ward 8 only 140 and that Ward 3 had another 150, or so, guns registered since the Supreme Court struck down DC gun laws banning handguns in 2008. I guess it will be something to consider for the various crime minions when they are casing neighborhoods to ply their crime.

Knowing this and watching the spike in forced entry into several AUPARK homes makes me wonder if most of the guns are in Spring Valley?   Any thoughts? Please leave a comment.

Local Walking Club

 Hi Everyone,

We'll be walking this week on Monday and Thursday evenings, leaving at 8:15pm
sharp from my house, 4306 Brandywine St.  Check in with each other about
Thursday night to be sure you have a walking buddy, as it's the night with the
least number of walkers.  We return from our walks always by 9:30pm and we
generally do a brisk 4-5 mile walk.

Join us also early mornings for a brisk walk.  We leave every M-W-F at 6:30am
from the corner of Brandywine and 43rd STREET.
